Renate has been playing with fibre since she was 7 years old and has never looked back. She loves to feel the fibre moving through her hands and creating a piece of fabric with it. She spins, weaves, felts, knits and crochets and sells her pieces so that she can make more. Her motto is, “You can never have enough soft wooly things to surround you”.

Vivian Davidson
Vivian has lived in Pemberton since 1979 and is continually inspired by her surroundings to be creative. Her love of quilting started at a young age, while learning to sew with her Omi (maternal grandmother). Beading has become a natural progression since both activities require creativity and
knowledge of colour, patterning and balance. She especially likes designing custom jewelry using pearls, gemstones and crystals. For commission work please call (604) 894-6692 or email

Vin Dougherty
This active 96 year-old Englishwoman moved to Pemberton with her daughter in order to be close to her granddaughter and her family. Vin learnt most of her craft-work when, as a young woman, she was a member of the Women’s Institute (WI) in England. Later, as she became skilled, she demonstrated and taught needlework and other crafts to other WI members. Knitting is an activity Vin still enjoys.

Crafts, Sculpture, Art and Photography

Kathy Leverton
Kathy of "The Maker's Design", has been a crafter for many years, working in many different mediums including quilting, dried fruit decorations, card making and painting. Out of her personal love of beads and jewelry she has expanded into designing custom made jewelry. Some of the inspiration for her jewelry designs, which can include semi-precious stones, fresh water pearls, crystals, Czech glass, porcelain and glass beads, comes from the beauty of the area in which we live. She also buys many of her medallions from other local artisans.
She loves playing with colour combinations and texture. Her designs are earthy and simple. She appreciates the opportunity to custom make jewelry for individuals and is excited by new design options. She has sold her jewelry at the Pemberton Museum, the Pemberton Christmas Craft Fair, through consignment and at her home. She can be reached at (604) 894-6064 or through e-mail at
kathyleverton@hotmail.com.

Anyes Grzenia
When it comes to art “anything goes” for Anyes. She believes we live in an artist's paradise. Whatever she can get her hands on she’ll use in her creative moments - flowers, rocks, branches; the supply is endless. She does not have any favourite medium. When an object attracts her, she uses it in her creations. Sometimes it can end up looking quite unusual, but that is how her creativity works. Contact Anyes at Vlindera Box 1214 Mt.Curries V0N2K0.

Tim Napier
Tim moved to Pemberton in 1985 to work as a Consulting Forester. After becoming tired of a career of twenty eight years as a Professional Forester he decided to expand upon his love of wood-work and wood-turning, to become an artisan. His works are each unique, yet for the most part, practical and meant for daily use. If properly cared for, his bowls and other products will provide many years of use and enjoyment. While he produces many unique items from egg-cups to very large bowls, he will also do custom work. He produces unique beautifully aesthetic rounded bowls, very unusual irregular bowls, and just about anything that one could possibly want made in wood, including ladles and other kitchen utensils. He uses irregular burls that are full of character, straighter grained Birch and other interesting woods. Contact Tim at (604) 894-6921 or
Wildbowls@telus.net.

She enjoys incorporating her artistic passion and ability into one area of specialization and being able to create unique and customized pieces of art. Email Jocelyn at

Laverne Wood
Laverne has had an avid interest in the arts, particularly watercolor painting and photography, since coming to Pemberton 35 years ago. Portraying flowers is her main interest, although scenic mountain photography is the subject for the cards that she sells locally. Rock formations on the Sea to Sky highway as well as Gulf Islands have recently captured her interest as subjects. Her cards may be purchased from several local outlets or directly from her home collection. Call

John Tschopp
The digital camera made it possible for John to capture the local treasures, which are staring at him so frequently. Just like the colourful fish to a diver, our local birds never stop to amaze him. With the help of the camera he can share these shapes and colours with viewers within and beyond our valley. Contact him at
(604) 894-6476.

Pamela-Indica
Her photography is a skylight into Indica's soul. Her images reflect the regions of the world she had to step into before doing anything else in life.
